Last night I saw that this 5 quart Martha Stewart cast iron dutch oven pot was on sale on the Macy's website for $49 (regularly $99). I've been wanting a La Creuset type enameled cast iron soup pot for a while, but not wanting to pay $200, so when I saw this price I thought I'd get it. It was $12 shipping tho so I decided to run up to Macy's first and see if they had it there.
So I went up there this afternoon.. No sign of it and the woman there seemed pretty clueless as to if they were getting it, if it was on sale, how much it was. I ended up finding a 7 qt. one on a shelf (in red) but it was not on sale and was $119... so I thought, fine I'll order it online.
When I got home and went to order it tho.. IT WAS SOLD OUT! grrrrr..... They have it in blue.. and I was tempted to get blue.. but I have red stuff in my kitchen.. not much blue stuff.. and tho I like the blue, red just seems more of a soup pot color. So.. I decided to get the 7 qt one for $59 (+$12 + $3 tax...). It's "on order" so it won't even ship for 10 days, then its another 5-9 days shipping....
grrrrrrr....
maybe I should hae just spent the $119... or got the blue one.. or got a $200 Le Creuset at William Sonoma in lime green.
I signed up for a free soup making class at W-S in Feb. By then I should have my soup pot.
I hope I'm still into making soup by then.....

but - the good thing - by the time they DID have it in stock and shipped it, it was on sale for $50 less than I had originally planned to spend so I got it for the sale price
